Our Story

Tamrakala was founded by Mr. Prashant Vaidya in 1990. It began as work in copper — hammering, shaping and finishing sheets into objects for the home.

Over time the work grew to include copper-enamel decor, puja pieces, jewellery and gifting. The colour work is applied by hand, piece by piece, which is why no two products are ever exactly alike.

The pieces are made with village artisans and designers in Alibaug, Raigad. Each object carries the marks of handwork: small differences in colour, surface and finish that come from being made by a person, not a machine.

Our intention is simple — to keep copper craft in everyday use, in homes, in puja spaces, and in the gifts people give one another.
